Debra cared for her father 24/7. He was bedbound and unable to move on his own. Over time, his hands contracted into fists, which made cutting his nails both difficult and critical so that they wouldn’t dig into his palms. Exhausted, Debra wished she could pay someone to cut her dad’s nails for her.

There was something else Debra wished she could pay someone for:

Pampering her father—he loved massages and warm shampoos, but Debra was too wrung dry as a caregiver to give these things as much time and attention as she wanted.

I can attest that this story is 100% true because I’m writing about myself under the guise of Debra.

I learned (through a secondary source) that of 2,100 family caregivers surveyed by Age of Majority, 80% were interested in paying for services and products to assist them, but 87.9% couldn’t identify companies that distinguished themselves for serving caregivers.
